Upon A Star

The following section is dedicated to the (unofficial) transcripts of the nationally broadcasted interviews that I took part in. The first, from the Today Show, was an interview by Al Roker on myself. The second, Access Hollywood, was an interview between Mariah and myself. Transcripts that are not currently provided are interviews that took place during January and February 2003 on RSN TV, NBC Access Hollywood, and others.

Segment Length: 3:00 minutes
Interviewer: Al Roker

KATIE COURIC: Now let's go back to the Mall of America and Al for a check of the weather. Howdy!

AL ROKER: Hi Katie! We've got a special guest with us. Caleb Boulter is from New Hampshire. He's seventeen years old, suffering from Tuberous Sclerosis and Polycystic Kidney Disease. Your doctors told you that you wouldn't make it past ten. You are seventeen…

CALEB BOULTER: Exactly!

AL ROKER: …and you're going strong and your wish was to meet Mariah Carey…

CALEB BOULTER: Meet Mariah Carey, yes!

AL ROKER: …and the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted it and you met her.

CALEB BOULTER: I met her on Monday, yeah!

AL ROKER: What was that like?

CALEB BOULTER: It was unbelievable. I met her around 4 O'clock at night, in a restaurant…we spent about an hour together and she was absolutely amazing.

AL ROKER: Aww.

CALEB BOULTER: She really was, we really had a deep conversation and really connected right off.

AL ROKER: Aww, well that's great and you heard her new album, what do you think?

CALEB BOULTER: New album is awesome. Very earthy, it's a different Mariah.

AL ROKER: Little RnB?

CALEB BOULTER: Little RnB, exactly!

AL ROKER: Not to weather - uh…Mariah, but you want to be in weather…

CALEB BOULTER: I want to be in weather, yeah, exactly…

AL ROKER: That's good!

CALEB BOULTER: ...and I want to go into the research part.
AL ROKER: Oh, that's good! So you aren't coming after my job then.

CALEB BOULTER: No, no - not after your job!

AL ROKER: Ok, well I appreciate that! Well, Caleb Boulter, it was so nice to meet you.

CALEB BOULTER: Aww thank you very much!

AL ROKER: I'm glad - You're going to have ringside seats at the concert.

CALEB BOULTER: Exactly, yeah. I am looking forward to it.

AL ROKER: Well good to see you, Caleb.

CALEB BOULTER: Ok, thank you.

AL ROKER: Alright, that's what's going on in our part of the country, here's what's happening in your neck of the woods.

- LOCAL WEATHER SEGMENT -

AL ROKER: And so we got mom, what's your name?

CHRISTINA BOULTER: Chris.

AL ROKER: And?

ALBERT BOULTER: Al.

AL ROKER: Alright, thank you. The Boulter's, ladies and gentlemen, from New Hampshire! Caleb - Great New England sounding name!

CALEB BOULTER: Oh yeah, thank you.

AL ROKER: You like that, alright. Right man? You bet ya! Ok let's go back to Katie.

KATIE COURIC: Alright Al, thank you.

PAT O'BRIEN: With two days of complete rest for this early gig, Mariah told us that she was really crooning with joy over the 240,000 plus disks that have flown off the record store shelves.

MARIAH CAREY: I feel great about it doing so well that I'm just thankful to my fans for like sticking through all the nonsense and everything with me.

PAT O'BRIEN: One of those people, seventeen year old Caleb Boulter, a chronically ill fan who suffers from a kidney disease…today he got his wish, to meet Mariah Carey.
